Using AstraSync With Gmail
Google recently announced it was to discontinue the Gmail app for BlackBerry.
This leaves many BlackBerry owning Google users without a way to push their Google mail to their device or sync their Google calendar and contact data.
Thankfully there is an alternative. Just as iPhone owners can set up an ActiveSync connection to Google's servers, BlackBerry owners can use AstraSync to perform two way synchronization of
their mail calendar and contacts.
How to Configure AstraSync to connect to Gmail
1. During the AstraSync configuration wizard enter the following details on the server configuration screen:
Email: Your full Gmail email address e.g. astrasync@gmail.com
Domain: Leave this box blank
Username: Your full Gmail email address e.g. astrasync@gmail.com
Password: Your Gmail account password
and press 'Next'.
2. If you see any network connection or certificate prompts click 'Continue'.

3. Press 'Cancel' on the server auto discovery screen, Gmail doesn’t currently support this.

4. Enter m.google.com in the Server field and check the Use SSL box to complete the extended server configuration screen and click 'Next' to continue the setup.

If an 'Invalid URL parameter' error is returning during account verification stage then press the 'Back' button a couple of times until you reach 'Network Settings'.
Change the Cellular Connection to TCP/IP and continue the setup wizard (you may need to re-enter your server password).
